Upcoming
Event
I
just completed a bunch of special effects for the upcoming Dr Seuss
CGI movie, Horton
Hears a Who. A big thank you to Ricardo
Curtis from House of
Cool for thinking of me for the job. I had an absolute blast
working on the film, so much so that I even worked on Christmas Day
(I did, however, take a
few hours off to spend with family and friends).
I
don’t know much about the movie except
for the sequence I worked on. Hopefully, it
will be a good one. You can check out the trailer here.
Interview

his brand new website.
There's
a really cool ice cream place in my hometown called Mallard
Ice Cream. Besides having fresh made delicious ice cream, they
support local artists by exhibiting and commissioning artworks.
I
was delighted to be approached by the owner to create the label for
their strawberry ice cream: one of their most popular flavors!
The
Saga of Rex continues in Flight 5!
I just
finished a 36-page chapter of the "Saga
of Rex" for the comic anthology Flight Vol 5 which
will be coming out Summer 2008. It's called "The Broken Path" and
it's got some pretty epic moments if I may say so. Click
here for a 6-page preview.
Speaking
of Flight 5, I've seen some of the stuff coming
in and it's truly inspiring. I'm so happy to be a part of this. If
you haven't checked out Flight yet,
you really should.
I
recently found out about this 20-minute film. I was going to email
the link to a bunch of my friends but then, I realized I could reach
a greater amount of people by posting it here. Animation is a powerful
tool for communication and projects like these are a great way to
use the medium. Check it out.
I'm
back from England where I spent 3 days meeting with author Sabina
Spencer (Heart of Leadership), producer Gary Kurtz (Star Wars,
Dark Crystal), and animation director Richard
Bazley (The Iron Giant), about an exciting collaboration. I
can't reveal anything about this project yet except to say that
it's animated, feature lenght, and I will start production designing
the film in January.
Meanwhile,
work is moving at a fast pace on our game Insanely
Twisted Shadow Planet. My partner and I will be flying around
the west coast to present a live demo of the game to Sony, Ubisoft,
Microsoft and a few others in early January. We can't wait to show
this thing off!
